Sure Smile

How It Works

Records

1
A 3-D Diagnostic Model is created from an alginate impression or scanned plaster model.   These digital models provide an initial record of your patient.

With SureSmile, you can use the Diagnostic Model to simulate different treatment options.

Bond

2
Use the bracket of your choice to bond the patient as you normally would and use a straight-wire for leveling.

Scan

3

You will scan the patient three to six months after bonding using the OraScanner® or Cone-Beam Computed Tomagraphy. The scan records the bracket and tooth location.

The SureSmile Digital Lab creates a mid-treatment or Therapeutic Model from the scan data. The Therapeutic Model is used for set-up and treatment planning.

Set-Up

4

The Therapeutic Model is used to simulate different treatment options and proactively plan the patient's entire treatment. A Set-up Request is sent to the SureSmile Digital Lab once you have created the treatment plan.

You will receive a Set-up Model from the Digital Lab with the teeth in a 3-D digital objective. Quality grading tools are provided in SureSmile to help you assess your treatment plan prior to approval.

Wire

5

SureSmile uses complex algorithms to create the wire design based on the approved Set-up model. These calculations compensate for variances such as manufacturing tolerances, biology and bracket placement.

The SureSmile archwire is made using a robotic customization process that provides precise control of first, second and third order movement.
